Founder, Richard Gilder, PhD
Dr. Richard Gilder III received his MA in Classics from the Graduate Center of CUNY and his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. He has written two innovative Latin textbooks designed for the beginning and intermediate Latin student of any age: Via Facilis: Mastering Latin and Understanding Language and Via Non Difficilior: Deepening Our Mastery of Latin and Understanding of Language. A third in the series will soon be completed and available for purchase.
Dr. Gilder has taught for more than two decades at institutions such as Tuxedo Park School, the University of Pennsylvania and CUNY. He has also taught in both the basic Greek and Upper Level Latin programs of the Latin/Greek Institute of Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center.
Dr. Gilder teaches workshops to transform the way students and teachers look at language. The founder of CAGSE, Dr. Gilder is also responsible for the direction and all financial aspects of the consultancy. Further info Via Facilis
Director, UK Latin Programmes, Sara Canullo, MSc (Almae Matris)
Sara started studying Latin at 13 and went on to study Classics and Archaeology at the University of Bologna. During this period, Sara was involved in a number of projects including excavations and the conservation of finds. She also worked for the Italian School of Archaeology in Athens, spending a Summer managing the site of Gortyna, Crete. After graduation, Sara worked in contract archaeology for Bologna town council. She then undertook an MSc at UCL in Skeletal and Dental Bioarchaeology, which included a dissertation on microscopical analysis on pathological bone.
Programme-Coordinator, Zanna Wing-Davey, MA (Cantab)
Zanna read Classics at King's College, Cambridge but got her taste for Latin while she attended Camden School for Girls. A professionally trained violinist, Zanna also has a background in drama and the visual arts which she incorporates into her dynamic and refreshing teaching style. Since graduating from Cambridge, Zanna has spent her time in myriad pursuits ranging from living in New York City, to travelling in West Africa and working in television in England. She is now working towards her MA.
