CRITICAL THINKING THROUGH STORYTELLING

Critical Thinking

A key challenge for pupils in the last year of primary school and first year of secondary school is that they must learn more independently.

To enable them to meet this challenge, children must begin to understand how problems are built up, in order to break them down and find solutions.

Our simple, effective approach is to slow down the thinking process and look carefully at each step. We do this by using stories and critical thinking approaches to examine cause and effect.

As well as helping with the transition period, this helps pupils in a broader context. Once they understand the implications of their choices, they can fully take responsibility for them.
