CAGSE's Latin Programme
CAGSE provides Latin classes for primary schools during the school day. The courses have demonstrated effects on improving literacy, problem-solving and skills with language.
Our teachers comprise a community of educators dedicated to sharing their understanding of a variety of subject areas, including, but not restricted to, Classics.
All teachers have pedagogical support throughout the year in Dr. Richard Gilder's innovative teaching methods. Central to these is the strategy of practising every new idea in English before teaching it in Latin.

Dr. Richard Gilder, Founder of The CAGSE Foundation, has written a textbook that addresses the biggest challenge for both teachers and students of Latin: grammar. For every structure, Via Facilis offers exercises in English grammar before addressing the Latin. This approach allows students to engage with their native language to learn its structure rather than forcing them to memorize rules. It also shows the shape and patterns in language generally while it teaches English and Latin thoroughly.
Sample chapters of the book are available on the Via Facilis blog, and the entire text can be ordered from AuthorHouse.
The Video Teachers' Guide is available at no cost on the Via Facilis website.
