Latin in State Primary Schools

CAGSE has a programme teaching Latin in primary schools. Children in years 4, 5 and 6 are using Latin as a vehicle for learning about language generally and about English grammar, writing and analysis in particular.

We believe our programme will provide hard data for what we know anecdotally — Latin improves the thinking, writing and creative skills in students of all levels and capabilities. See full details of schools participating in our programme.

Latin and Storytelling Events

As well as running a programme of weekly lessons in primary schools, we visit schools and other venues to perform special Latin and Storytelling events. These fun events may be an assembly or a longer sesssion. They offer samples of CAGSE's programmes and can include a classically-based story, artwork by the children relating to the story and games with Latin conversation.
